Termiel 2.5% EC, a contact termite control insecticide, contains the active ingredient fipronil, which belongs to the phenylpyrazole group. It acts on gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors in the insect's central nervous system by blocking the flow of chloride ions, causing excessive excitement, fear, or irritation. Termiel 2.5% EC affects insects differently than all other commonly used insecticides. It eliminates termites within a few days and has a sequential effect that effectively eliminates the entire colony through a domino effect.
