Properties:
Biopren is a public health insecticide used to combat mosquito larvae in stagnant water bodies. It is prepared in the form of tablets ready to be added directly to water. Bioprene combats mosquito larvae of the genera (aegypti, Aedes albopictus, Culex pipiens).
Biopren contains the active ingredient amethoprine, which works as an insect inhibitor of moulting growth regulator (IGR) as it affects the larval stage of the insect and causes an imbalance in the hormonal balance necessary for the moulting process, which leads to its life cycle not being completed as a result of its failure to transform into a full-fledged insect. The pesticide does not affect the adult stage of mosquitoes.
